Historic Hotels | The hotel boasts 17 comfortable “Seaman’s suites” in restored buildings in the historic seafaring town of Risør. Most of them are in the town centre, in buildings dating from 1863, while some are in the “Vatican”, a listed building erected in 1750, beautifully situated by the sea and Risør Trebåtbyggeri’s boatyard.

The hotel’s founders took a passion for Risør’s rich seafaring history, maritime antiquities and exciting interiors as their starting point. The hotel has evolved continually over the last 25 years, and now also offers function and conference facilities. In “Konsulatet”, the former sexton’s house dating from 1863, you will find a original wine cellar, dining room, bedroom with fireplace, and a beautiful garden with swimming pool.

Risør is famous for its seafood, and guests can order a delicious shellfish platter to enjoy in their suite. Breakfast can also be served in the room. There are several good bars and restaurants nearby.
