The only "Fruit and Cider route" in Norway can be found in Ulvik in Hardanger. The route connects the three fruit farms Hakastad Gard/Ulvik Frukt og Cideri, Syse Gard and Lekve Gard/Hardanger Saft og Siderfabrikk, all within walking distance from each other. Experience the best of Ulvik with a stay at Brakanes Hotel.
Join in for a unique peek "behind the scenes", enjoy a tasting of delicous local cider and sample some scrumptious goods from the farmyard shops. In this tour we have included two nights at Brakanes Hotel in Ulvik accompanied by a cider tasting and a guided tour at two of the farms.
Day 1: Arrival in Ulvik and check-in at Brakanes Hotel
One of the highlights of Brakanes Hotel is its restaurant, which serves delicious Norwegian cuisine made from local ingredients. The restaurant has a lovely terrace overlooking the fjord, where guests can dine alfresco.
Day 2: Experience the Fruit and Cider route
Start the day with a delicious breakfast in the hotel's restaurant and walk along the fjord to the start of Apalvegen. There is a 30 minutes walk from the hotel to the farms.
In this tour we have included two cider tastings with guided tours at 12:30 and 15:00. The first tasting will be held at Ulvik Frukt & Cideri. For the second tasting you can choose between Syse Gard and Hardanger Saft & Siderfabrikk. Between the tastings you can also visit the farm shops, which are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00-17:00.
The Fruit and Cider Route is a collaboration between Hardanger Saft- og Siderfabrikk, Syse Farm, and Ulvik Frukt & Cideri. Yearly, the group hosts festivals in May (Siderslepp; celebrating their ciders) and October (Fruktslepp; celebrating the fruit harvest). All farms have outlets selling cider and other farm produce, such as fresh fruit, meat and apple juice, so we do recommend visiting all three.
