Like ancient slumbering giants, the mountains line the road that takes you alongside Rondane National Park. The slowly changing landscape with its towering mountains is a memorable experience!

Day 1: Arrival at Hafjell and Check-in at Nermo Hotell
Your journey begins at Nermo Hotell, a traditional family-owned business that offers a stay in beautiful surroundings in Hafjell, with a splendid view over the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Nermo Hotel is located 15 km from Lillehammer, 200 km from Oslo, and 160 km from Oslo Airport Gardermoen.
Here, you'll reside in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, with a focus on quality and comfort. The hosts emphasize personal service, unique rooms, and food made from scratch.
If you're looking for activities, the hotel is conveniently situated close to exhilarating experiences in Hafjell and Hunderfossen. Nermo also boasts its own golf and mini golf course, as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool. With a short distance to Lillehammer, the hotel is also a great starting point for excursions to places like Lillehammer Olympic Park and Maihaugen.
In the evening, the kitchen invites you to a meal consisting of high-quality ingredients with flavors from Gudbrandsdalen. A 2-course dinner is served at 7:00 PM (barbecue buffet from June 20th to August 19th is served from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM).
Day 2: Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane and Røros
After a hearty breakfast, your journey continues along the National Tourist Route Rondane, between Muen on Venabygdsfjellet and Folldal, and from there onwards to Røros. See driving suggestions from Lillehammer to Røros here.
Some of our recommendations along the way:
·Make a stop at the winding viewpoint platform, Sohlbergplassen, by Atnsjøen. The ambiance of Harald Sohlberg's famous painting "Winter Night in the Mountains" from 1914 is enchanting. The architect aimed to recreate this atmosphere, and from Sohlbergplassen, you can see the view towards Rondane from the same angle as in the painting.
· Have a coffee break with delicious baked goods at the traditional Atnasjø Kafe.
· Also, consider stopping at Strømbu rest area and viewpoint, an excellent starting point for hikes.
· Visit Folldal Mines and experience one of Norway's most important industrial cultural heritage sites.
· Make a stop at Sollia Church, one of the country's most beautiful and well-preserved baroque churches.
Upon arriving in Røros, Vertshuset Røros extends a warm welcome to the mining town.
Vertshuset Røros is situated in Rammgården, a charming building that has been renovated in the traditional Røros style in close consultation with the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, where the main building's history dates back to the 1600s. Here, you'll stay in and be surrounded by historic architecture – just a stone's throw away from the iconic Røros Church, Bergstaden Ziir. You can almost hear history whispering in the walls!
The kitchen is a source of pride for Vertshuset Røros. The head chef and his team use local quality ingredients and conjure up gourmet meals with clear inspiration from Røros' food traditions and culinary culture. In the evening, you will be served a delightful 4-course dinner.
Day 3: Check-out and new Adventures
Before breakfast the following day, we recommend that you take your time to explore the fascinating mining town. Consider staying for more nights!
